A strong request includes full name, booking number if known, the admission period, case number, and approximate release date. Ask for the existing record, not for staff to create a custom “24-hour list.” Oregon Public Records Law does not require an agency to create a record it does not maintain.
The authority and destination fields need plain wording. Security or bail means the person left jail while the case continued. Time served means the custodial part then due ended, though probation or a different hold may remain. Dismissal or acquittal describes a case outcome, but the jail record still establishes when staff acted. Transfer means YCCF custody ended and another custodian received the person. A detainer can make one agency’s release the start of another agency’s custody. “Discharge” should identify whether it closes the jail episode or a later supervision term. Those labels cannot be derived from the roster alone.

Request Yamhill Same-Day Release Proof

Request the actual release time, releasing facility, legal authority, destination or receiving agency, charges and case numbers, bail transaction, and any hold or detainer. A person still shown on the Current Roster is currently displayed by Yamhill County as an adult in custody. A future Scheduled Release entry does not mean the person has left. After the name disappears, the result becomes less specific. The person could have entered the community, moved to another jail, entered ODOC custody, or gone to a federal or other custodian.

Federal custody needs its own locator. FCI Sheridan and the Bureau of Prisons do not report through the Yamhill jail roster or Oregon OOS. Juvenile detention also follows restricted records rules and must not be folded into an adult release list.
